Logistics

Setting up a new business venture in Africa requires complete planning and implementation of various tasks. Many retailers and consumers, who wish to expand their business, advance supply and distribution chain requires high quality logistics. Transfer of goods from one country to another requires good transport infrastructure, which unfortunately Africa lacks. While the road networks are not in a good condition, almost 90 % of the trade happening in Africa is through its ports. This being the case many new ports are under construction in Africa and several projects are also underway to build logistics property development near to the site of ports. Poor rail and road links affect the transportation infrastructure and thus hinder the logistics market growth, very often logistics companies will have to move the cargo or goods by air, which incur a higher cost. In the coming years, the ports will have to be ready to accept huge volumes of cargo as a result of international trade but without proper logistics operation, the distribution of goods will be gravely affected.
