Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone is situated at the Southwest coast of West Africa and is rich in many natural resources like diamond, gold, bauxite and aluminium. It is one among the top ten diamond producing nations in the world. Exporting minerals is the main source of revenue to Sierra Leone and it also contains the largest deposit of rutile, a titanium ore used as paint and a coating for welding rod. The oil and gas industry in Sierra Leone is a rewarding business, the economy gains excellent revenue and helps in the development of the nation. Agriculture is also favoured with fertile soil and tropical climate. Being a member of the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) Sierra Leona gives access to over 225 million potential customers. A membership in the Mano River Union with Ivory Coast gives Sierra Leone access to more than 30 million buyers. The government is open to free trade and encourages foreign investors in varied sectors like agriculture, agribusiness, fisheries, tourism, infrastructure, construction, transportation, education, health, finance etc. hoping to improve and develop the country.
