The travel and tourism sector adds up a major chunk towards the GDP of Africa. Africa welcomed around 56 million international tourists in the year 2014. , Mauritius, Seychelles, Morocco, Madagascar are some countries which welcome tourists at a much higher rate amongst others. Travel and Tourism opens up a land of opportunities for the people of Africa in the sense it opens up to new job opportunities, economic growth, growth in business small scale and large, increase in domestic consumption, better infrastructure, environment preservation, steady growth in the airline industry, real estate and hospitality sector, women empowerment, increased global exposure, and invites foreign investment. In Africa, tourists want to see the wildlife, natural resources, lofty mountains, lush green forests, savanna and jungle, lakes and rivers, wealthy culture, heritage etc. The government has to provide political, economic and societal support to, promote and market the tourism in their country, proudly boast of their natural resources and make necessary steps to welcome them by providing the safest mode of transportation so that its citizens also benefit from good infrastructure, facilities and reform. Once we realize the full potential of Africa and show the world what it is capable of, then people will start flocking in to the continent to experience the real flavor of Africa.
